Cleverly built and perfectly produced, this song meanders and builds like a journey you don’t want to end.

9. Animal Collective – Summertime Clothes
Another from Animal Collective and it’s another blinder. This is a non-stop synth sensation.

8. Bon Iver – Blood Bank
Bon Iver comes back with this emotional and delicate song, he’s doing what he does best and it’s beautiful.

7. Passion Pit – The Reeling
It grabs you from the start and keeps a tight hold with it’s catchy and energetic synth filled melodies. I’m dancing just thinking of it.

6. The xx – Crystalised
A unique sound that justifies their hype this year, ‘Crystalised’ creates a hypnotising effect with it’s perfectly built harmonies.

5. Antlers – Two
Emotional and yet upbeat, this song has me in a trance for its full near 6 minutes, unless I press repeat, which I often have to.

4. Jack Penate – Tonight’s Today
Penate switched up his style, and made lush, complete, catchy and danceable Indie songs this year, God bless him.

3. Grizzly Bear – Two Weeks
A simple song, yet perfectly assembled with a piano loop to die for and vocals smoother than galaxy.

2. The Maccabees – No Kind Words
From its commanding opening beats to its dark, echoing vocals, this song will have your attention held hundreds of times over.

1. Animal Collective – My Girls
The amazing layers of this song are something I will never tire of. Simple perfection.
