It was announced earlier this year that the ever popular Bombay Bicycle Club have completed the follow up to I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose. Along with this new album (set for July 11th), a full on tour of smaller and more intimate venues has also been announced. They stated that the new material is much more basic and stripped down with acoustic guitars, mandolins, banjos etc, giving it a folk-centered sound.
The first taste of this new direction for them was released today in the form of a joint single for tracks ‘Ivy & Gold’ and ‘Flaws’. It’s a warmer and gentler sound obviously, not too far from those Mumford and Sons lads, with Jack Steadman’s fantastically fragile voice wailing away just how we like it.
