Video Round Up.

Brandon Flowers – Only The Young

Last we saw of Brandon Flowers, he was being repetitively rescued by Charlize Theron is the subtly humorous affair that was ‘Crossfire’. The Video for ‘Only The Young’, his second outing from solo debut Flamingo, sees The Killers frontman as the ring master of magnificent celestial circus, conducting acrobats, trapeze artists and dancers; think ‘cirque du soleil’ of the cosmos, with a bit of fire, lightening and water added in for good measure. Bold and beautiful visuals suit the understated yet powerful tone of the song, which may not be much of a departure from anything he released with The Killers, but is still a compelling listen.

Kid Cudi – Erase Me ft Kanye West

Although Kid Cudi released ‘Erase Me’ all the way back in August, a brand new video for the track has just arrived in the lead up to the release of his second album Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr Rager. It’s all headbands, groupies, and glitter cannons in this 70s throwback video which sees Kid Cudi dressed up as a Jimmy Hendrix-like rocker, playing gigs and going on the road. The video also features Kanye West who, along with the usual bling, dons a Roman Civic Crown on his head as if to proclaim himself the new Caesar: Amazing.

OK Go – White Knuckles

When it comes to music videos, these guys are in a league of their own, and their latest offering for ‘White Knuckles’, the second single off Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky, does not disappoint. This time around the band are joined by a number of dogs with whom they perform number of visually impressive tricks with. It may not be as memorable as ‘Here It Goes Again’ (‘the one with the running machines’) or ‘This Too Shall Pass’ (‘the one with the brass band’), but for giving themselves the challenge of working with dogs, they should definitely be commended. The song itself draws its funk roots from classic Prince but as is often the case with OK Go, the video slightly outshines the song.
