Yellow Ostrich.

Catching my attention recently with their fantastic Take Away Show, Yellow Ostrich are a quaint indie outfit that produce basic, stripped down music with great vocal harmonies. Made up of Alex Schaaf and Michael Tapper, the duo’s music is generally built around simple bass and drum lines with a very raw acoustic sound. ‘WHALE’, demonstrates this perfectly as vocals drive the song as it builds fantastically. Having already released a debut album The Mistress, along with two EP’s, there is plenty to get your ears around, especially as it’s all available for free over at their bandcamp. Their fist EP, The Morgan Freeman EP is especially worth checking out, the music is strong, whilst the lyrics give a biographic account of the life of, you guessed it, Morgan Freeman. (Including an interesting track titled ‘Morgan Freeman’s Alleged Relationship With His Step-Granddaughter’). They’re definitely worth checking out, have a listen to ‘WHALE’ below (shame about the terribly boring video).
