Triptides.


This duo originates from Bloomington, Indiana. Further research into that particular place learned me of the knowledge that Bloomington is indeed a landlocked city. This makes Triptides music utterly ridiculous. Well, not that ridiculous, but pretty odd.

Surfin’ the same wave (geddit?) as the likes of Harlem and Best Coast, Triptides craft little lower-than-lo-fi nuggets of garage pop, blending lush harmonies with a good dollop of reverb and crashing cymbals. Recently picked up by the Beachtapes record label, they’ve just released their debut EP ‘Tropical Dreams’, a seven-track soundtrack to summer that emulates that timeless sound of sun, sea and surfing. It’s pretty rad, man. Surf’s up.
